Mind Maps
I installed a diagramming application on my laptop this morning
and it's interesting to make a mind map. I learned this in one of the
seminars called Learning to Learn. Mind maps are essential in
planning or resolving issues.
Honest Questions
by Daniel Bedingfield
Can you see
The honest questions in my heart this hour
I am opening like a flower
To the rain
And do you know the silent sorrows of a
Never ending journey through the pain
Do you see a brighter day for me
Another day
A day
Do you wonder whats in store for me
The cure for me
The way
Oh look down and see the tears I've cried
The lives I've lived
The deaths I've died
Would you die them too
And all for me
(You say)
I will pour the water down upon a thirsty barren land
And streams will flow
From the dust of your bruised and broken soul
And you will grow like the grass
Upon the fertile plains of Asia by the streams
Of living water you will grow
Oh.. you will grow
Do you know
The story from the start
And do you know me
Like you've always told me
Do you see the whispers in my heart against your kindness
My eternal blindness
Do you see...
Do you see a brighter day for me
Another day
A day
Do you wonder whats in store for me
The cure for me
The way
Oh look down and see the tears I've cried
The lives I've lived
The deaths I've died
Would you die them too
And all for me
(You say)
I will pour the water down upon a thirsty barren land
And streams will flow
From the dust of your bruised and broken soul
And you will grow like the grass
Upon the fertile plains of Asia by the streams
Of living water you will grow
Oh.. I will pour the water down upon the thirsty barron land
And streams will flow
From the dust of your bruised and broken soul
And you will grow like the grass
Upon the fertile plains of Asia by the streams
Of living water you will grow
Oh.. you will grow

One Way ticket to the West?
I have bought my airline ticket to the West. I could smell the
scent of the west under my nose. Are you there? I can't fathom the depths
of your being but let me tell you this, turn your head to the East and
see the rising of the sun. Your day shall be brighter and I can see you
smile instead of turning your eyes to the West where the sun sets and
darkness falls.
I almost considered only a one way ticket but the lure of the West, my
being won't accept. The grass is greener. Material wealth can be acquired
easier. If I stay there, what would I become? Will I change into a person
that I am not?
Who The Cap Fit
Bob Marley
Man to man is so unjust, children:
Ya don't know who to trust.
Your worst enemy could be your best friend,
And your best friend your worse enemy.
Some will eat and drink with you,
Then behind them su-su 'pon you.
Only your friend know your secrets,
So only he could reveal it.
And who the cap fit, let them wear it!
Who the cap fit, let them wear it!
Said I throw me corn, me no call no fowl;
I saying, "Cook-cook-cook, cluk-cluk-cluk."
Some will hate you, pretend they love you now,
Then behind they try to eliminate you.
But who Jah bless, no one curse;
Thank God, we're past the worse.
Hypocrites and parasites
Will come up and take a bite.
And if your night should turn to day,
A lot of people would run away.
And who the stock fit let them wear it!
Who the (cap fit) let them (wear it)!
And then a-gonna throw me corn,
And then a-gonna call no fowl,
And then a-gonna "Cook-cook-cook, cluk-cluk-cluk."
( Instrumental break)
Some will eat and drink with you,
Then behind them su-su 'pon you, yeah!
And if night should turn to day, now,
A lot of people would run away, yeah!
And who the cap fit, let them wear it!
Who the cap fit, let them wear it!
Throw me corn, me no call no fowl;
A-saying: "Cook-cook-cook, cluk-cluk-cluk."
"Cook-cook-cook, cluk-cluk-cluk."
Throw me corn (cook-cook-cook);
Me call no fowl (cluk-cluk-cluk)

Detour
I WAS at the Samsonite outlet late in the afternoon. I couldn't
decide what bag to choose. I spent an hour inside the store. The sales
woman offered to help. I asked for her opinion. I needed a second vote.
She said red. Then, red it is. It is like making a survey. I was thinking
of a black colored duffle bag with wheels so it matches with my other
gears. Black is the common color of bags at the airports. I guess, I should
be worried since bags these days are switched. In my mind, I was looking
at the tag and it read DETOUR. Hmmm, what is this, I asked myself. Has
the universe conspired to make this happen? Maybe, so.
I have engaged in a conversation with the lady in her mid-50's. She is
also on a detour. Perhaps this event in our lives reveals something in
the days to come. She was so happy listening to my stories and got inspired.
We became friends in that instance. She wished me well and I wished her
well, too. We are leaving the island on the same date.
Random Thoughts
Definitely find life in making the best of life. I spoke of living
without dreams. I saw what nature brought in the midst of life. I began
to see how much you mean to me. Draw me near. Like the fire engulfing
the soul that is (was) in me. Do we create this nonsense to life? I began
to understand we no longer need the existence of religion, we know the
presence of God.
I wrote these thoughts in my notebook on 23 February 2003. I don't know
what or who inspires me to write but I believe in my heart I will use
this special talent to humanity's passion for literature.

Dreams
The Cranberries
Oh my life is changing everyday
Every possible way
Though my dreams, it’s never quite as it seems
Never quite as it seems
I know I felt like this before
But now I’m feeling it even more
Because it came from you
Then I open up and see
The person fumbling here is me
A different way to be
I want more, impossible to ignore
Impossible to ignore
They’ll come true, impossible not to do
Impossible not to do
Now I tell you openly
You have my heart so don’t hurt me
For what I couldn’t find
Talk to me amazing mind
So understanding and so kind
You’re everything to me
Oh my life is changing everyday
Every possible way
Though my dreams, it’s never quite as it seems
’cause you’re a dream to me
Dream to me

usted iría cuando el sol está abajo? Dígame.

Together in Prayer
"When two or three people are gathered together in my name,
there I am in the midst of them." (Matthew 18-20.) In unison, in
prayer. In happiness, in laughter. In tears, in bliss. Let us pray always.
When You Wrote This
"I read your journal I can't help but hope that the boy
and the girl can stay in that hill forever together, maybe the detour
will help them grow strong and prepare them for each other when the time
comes, here's to hope and its gifts."
Almost five years ago, I wasn't sure about this detour but the detour
is happening. It is a journey that will lead to a destination. The boy
and the girl on top of the hill will see the rising of the sun after they
watched the sunset.

On Soothsayers
The master says: "If a decision needs to be made, it is
better to make it and deal with the consequences. You cannot know beforehand
what those consequences will be. The arts of divination were developed
in order to counsel people, never to predict the future. They provide
good advice, but poor prophecy." In one of the prayers that Jesus
taught us, it says, 'God's will be done.' When His will causes a problem,
it also presents a solution. If the arts of divination were able to predict
the future, every soothsayer would be wealthy, married and content."
- Paulo Coelho, Maktub

The Window to Success
"You have what it takes to be successful. The only thing
I can give you is this: 'Persevere and be ready to face the challenges
that come and go every single day. They are your road to success. And
if you can beat them, then you are there. I know you can. Just believe
in yourself because I know that you have the ability to be what you want
to be." - From a letter by Meryam, circa 1991

Fatherhood
"Any man can be a father. It takes someone special to be
a dad." ~Author Unknown
"Why are men reluctant to become fathers? They aren't through being
children." ~Cindy Garner
By profession I am a soldier and take pride in that fact. But I am prouder
– infinitely prouder – to be a father. A soldier destroys
in order to build; the father only builds, never destroys. The one has
the potentiality of death; the other embodies creation and life. And while
the hordes of death are mighty, the battalions of life are mightier still.
It is my hope that my son, when I am gone, will remember me not from the
battle field but in the home repeating with him our simple daily prayer,
'Our Father who art in Heaven.' ~Douglas McArthur
I SEE fatherhood as a way of life. Fathers are the pillars of the family.
They are the symbol of strength and leadership. Their children look up
to them and give their children the love and attention. When fathers saw
the day their child was born into this world, their eyes reveal the spark
of joy and fulfillment of becoming a father. My father, according to my
mother, on the day I was born, shed tears of joy. He was in his mid 60's
when he begot me. He was a disciplinarian. He is a very humble man and
didn't exhibit a lifestyle of excessiveness. He knows how to appreciate
the little things that come along his way. He was a very industrious man
who works from sunrise to sunset making sure there's a meal set on the
table. He was a provider. He was a loving husband. I am proud of my father.
I am my father's son.
