No Goodbyes
by J.Q. Gonzales

Ten o'clock in the morning
The car came to a halt
Passing people by
As they waited for
A son to get home
Faces were dim
And then saw the light
His eyes looking at hers
In his last moments
On foreign land
Her eyes wished him to stay
As her friends looked on and pray
When he had something to say
She lamented, 'No goodbyes.'
It's written, they'll be together every day
The promise of an everafter
Is on their way.
