FreeHand must live
Many of the best designers worldwide do their work with FreeHand, since it was published in 1987 (version 1.0). They count on it and do not want to be pushed into changing to an inferior application. But in 2005, FreeHand, as one part of a bigger deal, was sold to an other corporation, who since then has simply buried it. No coincidence that the same corporation owns an other vector graphic application to which FreeHand was the only superior competitor.
FreeHand sold and buried
But now raises resistance, initiated by the designer and illustrator Thü Hürlimann, known in german speaking countries from his work as the former art director of Macworld and Computerworld Switzerland. In 2009 he came together with a group of designers, namely Jabez Palmer von Bez Design in Seattle, to found the FreeFreeHand Organisation. And already they got more then a thousend FreeHand users to join the community, all who want to see a future for FreeHand.
